Much Birch Community Resource Centre opened in 1981. The equipment (a typewriter, paper and a manual duplicator) were supplied by the County Council, and the centre was run by a local volunteer coordinator. It was available, as it is now, to any community groups or local non-profit-making organisations.
The Resource Centre is now housed in the Arthur Harris Room, and runs independently of the Council as a non-profit making service to the community. It offers a scan printer, paper and stationery equipment for local groups to use for their newsletters, publicity materials, booklets and any other printing needs. Users are given training in using the machine themselves, and the voluntary coordinator oversees maintaining and servicing the machine, restocking paper and other equipment and training new users.
